Hunter Syndrome in the News
James Oliver (Riverview, Florida) was recently the first Hunter patient to be featured on a Spanish-speaking television channel! During this year’s MPS Awareness Day on May 15, Univision’s evening news in Tampa, Florida did a special feature to showcase Hunter syndrome through James Oliver and his mother Deborah Martinez. The segment, shows James enjoying the Florida day, coloring his MPS kite for MPS Awareness Day and also interviews his mother about their experiences and how they cope on a daily basis with Hunter syndrome.

Hunter syndrome is caused by a deficiency of the enzyme Iduronate 2 sulfatase, and not Alpha L as mentioned in the story.
